Event Information

Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Student Events Team is holding an obstacle course competition event patterned after the TV show, “American Ninja Warrior,” that will be held Thursday, April 6 from 8-9 p.m. in Bresnan Arena, located in the Taylor Center on the University campus.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public with general admission seating. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Similar as in the TV show, 15 contestants will test their physical abilities by attempting to navigate various obstacles in front of a live audience. The contestants will attempt to run up and get to the top of a 12-foot “warped wall” and get through other obstacles such as “wipeout,” “triple steps,” “uneven ladder” and a “salmon ladder.”

The winner of the evening competition will be crowned “Kato Ninja Warrior.”

Conquer Ninja Warrior, which has locations in Eden Prairie, Minn., and Woodbury, Minn., will provide the obstacles for the event as well as commentators.

The 15 contestants in the evening time trials will be determined by performances in time trials that will be held from 3-7:00 p.m. the day of the event. Minnesota State Mankato students may sign up for free for the time trials. The public may sign up online for a limited number of spots in the time trials. Cost is $40 for public and $25 for students.

The event is free to attend, no ticket is necessary. This is registration to compete to be the Kato Ninja Warrior.
